Workshop At IIT- Bombay Regarding Machine Learning

It all Started With Whatsapp Message, You Read  It Right, A  Mere Whatsapp  Message from Seniors Who Were Going  For Workshop  2 Weeks Earlier than 7 Sept.

It Gradually Turned Up into A Workshop Group  And Finally after all screening  We got Our Final Group 0f CSE Students Of SVNIT, Who Agreed To  Registered  For  Their First Workshop In College  Life.

We did Lots Of Early Planning for Train , Stay , Transport, Food  and  Many  More  Minute  Details Since Its was Our First Experience Of  Venturing  By Yourself With Friends(Without Parents!!) And Managing All the Requirement of Not Only Our-self  But Whole Group.

Fast Forward To D-Day of Trip  

DAY 1

Our Trip Started  At 4 am in Morning of 7 Sept,2019(Saturday)  When Everyone was Gearing Up for The Planned  Trip,With all Things Ticked In Checked List.

We were Supposed to Reach Surat Railways Station At 5 Am For Scheduled Train Flying Ranee whose Departure Time Was  5:30 am.To Our Amazement, The Train Already Arrived On the Station At 4:45 am(Indian Trains are Not Always Late!!)

Happy Times

We  as Group Of 13 Members  Enjoyed  The Train Journey with Initial Dozing Sleep,Breakfast,Some Sort OF Masti, Chill, Photography, Laughter, Quizzing, Truth or Dare, Game 21,Riddles Solving and Last But Not the  Least Some Initial Preparation For The Workshop( Anaconda Software, With Built In Jupyter Notebook, Python Libraries Getting Installed).

Soon, We Got The Feeling Of Being  In Mumbai(Amosphere,Climate & Ofcourse Local Trains(MEMO)).

We Had Divided The Work Among  13 Persons,Regarding Different Departments Of Trips That they Will Take Care..Like  Food,Stay, Hostel to Station Travel,Train Tickets,Internal Travel  in Mumbai,Hotel Permission & Gatherer,Trip Tracker & Path Giver & Time Planner.

Soon 2 Friends Incharge  Of Booking  6 Seater  Cabs For Andheri Station  to IITB, Did their Job and We Reached The Destination  In  No Time.

 

Actually The Train Got Bit Late During The Travel & we  ended  Up  Reaching At 10:45 am(10:15 am was Workshop  Starting Time).But Nevertheless We Just The Introduction Part of Why Machine Learning Is Important And Where is It applied In Our Daily Life.

WET!!It Rained Heavily!!

Lecture Continued Till 1:15 pm. We Learnt Just The  Basics Of Getting Started  With Python  And  Basic Command  Line Interface And Working Of the Jupyter Notebook(IDE)  And Its Unique Features.

We had Lunch Break Till 2 pm At Hostel 10 Canteen.The Well Known Restaurant Of IITB, GulMohar  Was Rushed With a Queue Of 25 People Waiting Hungrily To Order Their Food,So we dropped Down That Idea.

Lecture Resumed At 2 pm But WAIT why Am I WET??

Oh!!I forgot To Tell It was Raining Heavily At 1:45 pm to 2:30 pm..and  We forgot Our Umbrellas at Lecture Hall.

Lecture Resumed With ML Types- Supervised,Unsupervised & Reinforcement..Soon Got More Interesting With Real Life Examples.

Lecture Continued Till 5:30 pm(Ended Our Day,With Completely Working Coded of Linear Regression). We also Learned About The ROBUST Algorithm “Gradient Descent”,Which Is the Base of Deep Learning.

Afterwards We Explore The IITB Campus.

Afterwards We Booked Cabs To Reach The Hotel(After Roaming  For 90 minutes,We Finally Got It).

We Checked in the Hotel and Got Fresh For Dinner At Nearby Veg  Restaurant.

We came Back To Hotel  & Completed  The Budget Of Day 1.

But, Its NOT OVER(Sleep)..We  were  Planning  For  Some Sort Of Games,Masti,Pending Laptop Work & Some Prank Calls To Our New SVNIT Friends!!!

Slept At 12:15 am that Day..Fully Tired And Exhausted.

DAY 2

Breakfast At GulMohar Restaurant

Started at 5:45 am In Morning..Wake Up and  Get Ready To Leave For IITB Day 2 At 7 am.

We Took Cabs Straight Towards IITB Restaurant(Remember Whats The Name,Scroll  Above),Had Good Heavy BreakFasts  Lecture Of Day 2 Started  With Multiple Linear Regression.

It Soon Took Some Depth,with Basic  Maths  And  Logic Understanding ..Other Sort Of Regression..to K Means Clustering.. Logistic Regression..Entropy(Not the Phy/Chem one!!) ,Artificial Neural Networks And  Activated  Funtion. (Don’t Worry About These Technical Words, They Looks Scary But are Too Simple To learn).

We Had Lunch Break till 2 pm At Same Hostel 10 Canteen(You  Know  the  Reason,Scroll Up).

WE got A Certificate Of Course Completion.

We Had A group Made At Google Classroom,Where We have to Submit Our Assignments to Our Mentor  & The Mentor Also Would Provide Links Of Some  Best Courses To Follow To Upgrade Yourself  In Field Of  Data Science. 

 

Lecture Continued Till  5 pm…And Finally Its Time To End Our Journey With IITB Campus & We Left For Train To Return Back Surat.

Till Here Our Journey Was Planned..Where Was Thrill??

Lets Face The Uncertainty By Traveling In Train Without Reservation.(Actually Sunday Trains Reservation Was  Full Before We Started  For This Trip)

We had tough times in Train Standing For Too LONG 3-4 hours ..But At the End Of The Day..We Had A feeling  Of Relaxation & Sweet Dreams  At The Same Bed ,Which Usually Did not Had Any Comfort.
